BrownTrout prepares Submission Guidelines every year for distribution in April to an established field of freelance photographers, licensors, and content providers. In order to be considered for receiving Submission Guidelines, please contact us and follow the How to Submit Guidelines.

BrownTrout occasionally publishes single artist titles on a flat fee or royalty basis. Proposed titles should be queried via email. In your query please describe the proposed content and provide a representative sample. Please follow the How to Submit Guidelines.

We accept submissions by email or postal mail. Those interested in submitting to BrownTrout for publication in our calendars, please send a cover letter describing your work and tell us the subjects you photograph (or illustrate) and the format in which you shoot. If you are sending a proposal for a new title, please also briefly describe the concept and market for this subject. Include a URL to your online portfolio. We prefer you do not send attachments totaling over 1MB. If you prefer to mail BrownTrout a proposal, you may send tear sheets or samples, but only if they do not need to be returned. Please do not include originals of any sort or any materials of value.

If we have a need for submissions in the categories for which you have coverage, we will advise you by sending submission guidelines at that time. We will contact you as needed.
